About Us

Who We Are. Blue Impact Network Limited is a company limited by guarantee, based in Zanzibar, dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism and preserving Zanzibar's cultural heritage and natural environment.

Our Vision. To make Zanzibar a globally recognized hub for sustainable tourism.

Our Mission. Coordinating efforts among stakeholders to implement sustainable tourism initiatives that align with the Zanzibar Sustainable Tourism Declaration and the Greener Zanzibar initiative.

Blue Impact Network was initiated by three founders whose combined experience spans destination management, sustainable tourism, governance, investment, and legal frameworks.

Blue Impact Network Zanzibar is proudly an official signatory of the One Planet Network Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, joining a global movement led by UNEP and UN Tourism to tackle plastic pollution at its source. This commitment reinforces our ongoing work to promote sustainable tourism and protect Zanzibar’s marine and coastal ecosystems. Through our implementation of the REDUCE Guidelines, we support the elimination of unnecessary and problematic plastics, we encourage and foster the adoption of reusable alternatives. Blue Impact Network offers tools for responsible consumption and waste management practices. Through partnerships with tourism businesses, communities and other stakeholders, we will continue to advance practical solutions that minimise plastic’s devastation to the environment and contribute to more circular and sustainable tourism in Zanzibar.
